The 9 Best Review Management Software Tools for Local Businesses

The right review management software for a local business depends mostly on how many locations you run and whether you want reviews alone or a whole customer-messaging suite. With one location, start with the free Google Business Profile and add a tool once you want review requests sent automatically and replies drafted for you. Published prices for the eight paid tools below run from $29 a month to $150 per location a month; Birdeye and Podium quote prices only through sales.

Updated October 3, 2026. This comparison is written by the team behind tailwind.reviews, one of the nine tools below. To keep it fair, every price and feature comes from each vendor's own website as published on October 3, 2026 (sources at the end), the tools are listed alphabetically, and every tool, ours included, gets a "skip it if" line. Prices change, so check the vendor's page before you buy.

The quick answer

  • One location and a handful of reviews a month: the free Google Business Profile may be all you need.
  • Automated requests and AI replies on a published price: tailwind.reviews, NiceJob (AI replies on its Pro plan) or GatherUp.
  • Local SEO and reviews in one tool: BrightLocal.
  • Reviews plus texting, phones and payments: Podium.
  • Many locations and an enterprise contract: Birdeye or Reputation.
  • Reviews on software and app marketplaces as well as local sites: Reviewflowz.

How we compared them

  • Where reviews come from: how many review sites the tool monitors, in the vendor's own words.
  • Getting new reviews: which channels the tool uses to ask customers.
  • Replying: whether it drafts replies with AI, and on which plan.
  • Price you can see: whether pricing is published, and what the entry plan costs.
  • Visibility in AI assistants: whether the tool shows how ChatGPT and other assistants describe your business. More customers now ask an assistant before they search.

We read each vendor's product, pricing and help pages. We didn't use third-party review sites or other comparison articles.

1. Birdeye

An all-in-one platform that Birdeye pitches to multi-location brands. Birdeye says it gathers reviews from 200+ sites, and its review agent drafts replies in your brand voice and can either post them or hold them for your approval. The wider platform covers listings, social media, surveys and ticketing, and the site links a "Check My AI Visibility" tool.

  • Price: not published. The pricing page is a quote form that asks how many locations you have.
  • Best for: brands with many locations that want one contract for reviews, listings, social and surveys.
  • Skip it if: you have one location and want to see a price before you talk to sales.

2. BrightLocal

A local SEO suite with review tools on top. The review tools sit in the Grow plan: monitoring across 80+ sites, requests by email, SMS and QR code, AI-assisted replies, and widgets that publish reviews on your website. The suite also includes rank tracking, citations and a Local AI Visibility Tracker that shows how your business appears in ChatGPT and Google's AI.

  • Price: Grow is $65/month billed monthly, or $49/month billed annually, for one location. The cheaper Track ($41) and Manage ($54) plans don't include the review tools. 14-day free trial, no card.
  • Best for: owners and agencies who want local SEO and reviews in one place.
  • Skip it if: you only want reviews, because you'd be paying for an SEO suite.

3. GatherUp

A review and customer-feedback platform for small businesses, multi-location brands and agencies. It monitors 100+ review sites, asks for reviews by email, SMS and QR code, offers two-way SMS, drafts replies with AI, and adds NPS surveys and flagging of suspicious reviews. Listings management is a paid add-on, and agencies can get a white-label plan.

  • Price: $124/month billed monthly, or $99/month billed annually, for one location. Multi-location plans start at $75 per location a month ($60 billed annually) and drop at higher location counts. 14-day free trial.
  • Best for: businesses that want reviews and customer surveys together, and agencies.
  • Skip it if: you have one location and want the lowest entry price.

4. Google Business Profile

Google's own tool, available "at no charge". You can reply to Google reviews, get alerts for new ones by email or in Search and Maps, flag reviews that break Google's policies, and share a review link or QR code. It covers Google reviews only, you send review requests yourself, and Google's help pages don't describe AI-drafted replies.

  • Best for: a single location with a manageable number of reviews.
  • Skip it if: you need Yelp, Facebook or industry sites in one inbox, or want requests sent automatically.

Whichever tool you choose, Google's rules apply: no incentives for reviews, and no selectively asking only happy customers. More on that in is review gating illegal?

5. NiceJob

A review tool for service businesses: home services, auto and moving, beauty and wellness, professional services. It sends review requests by SMS and email, shows reviews on your website with widgets, and gives you a reviews microsite. AI replies, referrals, NPS surveys and competitor tracking come with the Pro plan.

  • Price: Starter $75/month, Pro $125/month, with no contracts. 14-day free trial, no card.
  • Best for: service businesses that want more reviews and referrals with little setup.
  • Skip it if: you want AI-drafted replies on the entry plan.

6. Podium

A customer-communication platform for local businesses: reviews, an all-in-one inbox, website chat, phones, text marketing and payments. Review invites go out by text, and its "AI Reputation Specialist" drafts invites and replies. Podium names auto dealerships, home services, aesthetics and retail among its industries.

  • Price: not published. You get a custom quote from sales.
  • Best for: businesses that will use texting, phones and payments as well as reviews.
  • Skip it if: reviews are all you need.

7. Reputation

Reputation (reputation.com) describes itself as built for multi-location enterprises, and it publishes per-location prices. Its Rep Core plan includes review collection, requests and AI responses, plus business listings; higher plans add analytics and surveys. It monitors 130+ sites and sends requests through your website, email, SMS and in-store kiosks.

  • Price: $80, $115 or $150 per location per month, and custom Enterprise plans for 125+ locations. The pricing page doesn't state contract terms.
  • Best for: chains and franchises that want per-location prices they can see up front.
  • Skip it if: you're a single small business, since it's built for enterprises.

8. Reviewflowz

A review monitoring and generation tool that reaches beyond local review sites. Besides Google, Yelp, Trustpilot and TripAdvisor, it covers G2, Capterra, Glassdoor and the app stores, on what it calls "unlimited platforms". AI replies are unlimited on paid plans and can be posted automatically. Review requests go out by email, SMS or WhatsApp and are paid per message ($5 per 1,000 emails, $5 per 100 SMS). You can also connect your reviews to ChatGPT or Claude through its MCP server.

  • Price: $45 or $70 per location per month, billed annually. 14-day free trial, no card.
  • Best for: businesses whose reviews are spread across software, app and local platforms.
  • Skip it if: you want message costs included in the plan price.

9. tailwind.reviews

Our tool, built for local businesses. It brings reviews from Google, Yelp, Trustpilot, TripAdvisor and Facebook into one inbox, drafts replies with AI in your brand voice, and asks for reviews by email, SMS and QR code. Nothing is posted until you approve it. It also tracks how ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini describe your business; you can try that part free with our AI visibility checker.

  • Price: $29/month for one location, $59 for up to 5, $99 for up to 20, with 20% off billed annually. Every feature is in every plan. 31-day free trial, no card.
  • Best for: small local businesses that want reviews, AI replies and AI-search visibility on a published price.
  • Skip it if: you need a texting and payments inbox (Podium), customer surveys (GatherUp, Reputation, NiceJob Pro), or replies posted to Yelp and Trustpilot from one place. We draft those replies, but you post them on those sites yourself. We also monitor fewer review sites than the larger platforms above.

How to choose in five minutes

  1. Count your locations. With one, start free with Google Business Profile, then compare single-location plans. With five or more, compare per-location prices.
  2. Look at where your reviews actually are. If nearly all of them are on Google, you don't need a tool that watches 200 sites.
  3. Decide whether you also want messaging and payments. If you do, Podium is a different kind of product from the rest.
  4. Check which plan has the features you need. AI replies are on NiceJob's Pro plan, and review tools are on BrightLocal's Grow plan.
  5. Run the free trial on your real reviews before you commit. Most tools here offer 14 days; tailwind.reviews offers 31.
