Tailwind Brand Visibility

How visible is your brand next to your competitors?

One comparison across four channels — Google brand searches, local Google results, independent mentions and AI answers — for your city and a fixed list of competitors. Every number opens to its calculation and sources.

Brand Visibility is coming soon. Every measurement runs on Tailwind's servers, starts only after you have seen its estimate and stays within the budget you approve.

It measures digital visibility against your competitors — not how many people know your brand.

Four measurements, one comparison

Each answers its own question from its own source. Nothing is mixed, and nothing missing is counted as zero.

A

Share of Search

How often do people in your city search for you by name, compared with your competitors?

Source:
Google Ads Keyword Planner, the last 12 complete months.
How it counts:
Close spellings are merged only by an explicit rule. Keywords without data are missing, not zero.
B

Google results

Do you appear in the local top 10 when people search for the service, not for your name?

Source:
Localized Google results for a fixed set of local searches.
How it counts:
Only organic results count. Ads, map results and AI overviews are shown separately.
C

Independent mentions

How often do real people mention you in public discussions, compared with your competitors?

Source:
Public discussions such as Reddit and Hacker News, over the last 12 months.
How it counts:
Only independent, local messages count. Your own posts, directories and referral links don't.
D

AI answers

Do AI models from OpenAI, Google and Anthropic name you when someone asks them for a recommendation?

Source:
Clean API requests to each model: a fixed set of questions, each asked three times.
How it counts:
No brand in the question or context and no web search, so the model is not led. A separate series lets OpenAI and Claude search the web, as search-enabled assistants do, and shows which sites they cite; it stays out of the index.

Digital Visibility Index (experimental)

A weighted combination of the four measurements, in points out of 100. It stays off until every part is measured reliably, and weights are never shifted to cover a gap.

Illustration with fictional numbers. In the product every value opens to its calculation and sources. N/A means not measured yet — never zero.

How the numbers stay honest

Rules the measurement follows, so the numbers can be trusted and compared over time.

  • Missing is not zero

If a source isn't connected or a page wasn't collected, you see N/A and the reason — never a zero that looks like a result.

  • Every number has a source

Open any value to see its formula and the keywords, pages, messages or answers behind it.

  • Nothing leads the AI

Questions never name your brand or your competitors, and in the main series the models don't search the web while answering.

  • Changes are marked

A new competitor list, question set or model starts a new series, so a change of method is never read as growth.

  • Spending stays under your control

Each measurement shows its cost before it starts and stops at the monthly budget you approve. Repeat measurements run only on a schedule you confirm.

  • No guarantees

We measure and explain. We don't promise positions in Google or in AI answers.

How it works

  1. 1

    We prepare the study

From your company profile: the city, a first list of 10–20 competitors, and fixed sets of local searches and AI questions. Preparing costs nothing.

  2. 2

    You review the competitors

Add, remove or exclude competitors with a reason. The frozen list becomes the yardstick for every share.

  3. 3

    You see the estimate

Requests per source, the worst-case and expected cost, and what each source can cover — before anything is sent.

  4. 4

    We measure on our servers

Progress per source. If a source fails, everything else is kept and the reason is shown.

  5. 5

    You read the report

Your brand next to each competitor, with history, evidence and limitations. You can ask about it in the chat, too.

  6. 6

    Repeat when you choose

A schedule per measurement — monthly searches, weekly results and AI answers — only if you switch it on.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Awareness — the share of people who know your brand — needs a survey. Brand Visibility measures how visible you are in Google searches, local results, public discussions and AI answers compared with a fixed list of competitors.
