Talk about a random and fortuitous interaction! I was driving my 1953 Ford F100 on Block Island, RI and had some electrical issues. Fortunately for me at just that moment a guy named Jon came along and climbed under the dash and found a wire shorting out and fixed it on the spot. Since then I have sent my family who lives in Oregon to his shop and they have had nothing but nice things to say about the whole staff. Naturally I sent them in there as "secret shoppers" and the whole J & S staff has lived up to the example set by Jon. Their work was done professionally, quickly, cleanly, and for a fair price. If you need auto service please use J & S and be sure to say the guy from Block Island sent me.

I called to get a quote for replacing a front axle on a 2018 Toyota CHR. The diagnostic charge would be $150 and total cost would be $750. Since I had both front axles replaced on a Honda odyssey at AMMCO for $850 total I know it's too much and decided to tackle it myself after watching a YouTube video. Turned out it only took me 30mins to remove and less than an hour to install a new one I bought at O'Reilly for $203. I don't think it would take a professional mechanic with shop tools more than 30mins to do the job! Saved myself over $500!

Highly recommend them. They're honest and care about their customers more than their pockets, which is really hard to find. After the Beaverton Nissan dealership fully inspected my vehicle, they told me that both front lower control arm bushings are torn, and they quoted me for $1085.56 to replace both front lower control arms and alignment. I texted and emailed about 15 auto repair shops and they all quoted me around $950-$1000. Even worse, On Site Tire did a suspension inspection, and confirmed that both front lower control arm bushings are torn and told me that they would also need to replace both front tires even though I still have around 5k miles more on them. On the other hand, Bill quoted me $873.28 and gave me a $40 discount. I left the vehicle with them. They did their inspection. Hours later, Bill called me telling me that there was nothing wrong with the control arm bushings and that he wouldn't charge me for it. They're good people, and you can trust them with your vehicle and wallet. I'm glad I found them and got to meet them.

Needed little help for hood cover..few ships used ex uses not to help but after I went to this shop...helped me in 5 minutes and I was on road again happy. I appreciate this ship. Thanks

John and his staff at J & S Automotive have been incredibly helpful to me over the years. I've come in many times with questions about how to fix something on my car or truck, and they always take the time to help. Sometimes they'll even walk me through a repair or project without expecting anything in return. They genuinely care more about helping people get the job done right than making a quick sale. I still remember the first time I came in with an issue on my Toyota Tundra. I had watched YouTube videos and tried everything I could think of, but I couldn't figure it out. John said, "Come on, let me show you," and personally helped me fix the problem. He truly enjoys teaching others, and you can tell he loves what he does and has a heart for helping people. Because of the way they've treated me, I've recommended J & S Automotive to my friends and family, and I'll continue to do so. If you're looking for honest, knowledgeable people who genuinely care, I highly recommend this place.

I have a 2007 Honda Accord EXL, and have always taken it to the Honda Dealers for Service. The last time I was less than pleased, and so this time I researched and found J & S Automotive. They did an oil change, changed all the filters, changed the windshield wipers, and did everything for the price they said, and within the time they said. I'm very pleased with their service and the waiting room at their property. Not only do I prefer going to a locally owned business, but it was much closer to me than the Honda dealership. I highly recommend J & S Automotive for any services you might need for your car.

I just had my RAV 4 serviced, and I couldn't be happier with the experience! The team did an outstanding job. The two guys at the front desk were incredibly friendly and made the whole process smooth and pleasant. Plus, the prices were very reasonable. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for quality service and great customer care!

My high school son took his Honda(first car purchase), to get service light issue resolved so it could pass deq, etc. J and S Auto was quick to get it in and honest with charge and pricing was extremely fair. They always had time to answer questions, and can tell they aren't there to overcharge or drag out repairs. We will be using them from here on out and highly recommend them!!! I can see why they have high ratings, so glad we went to them.

My mother and I have been taking our cars to John and the other folks at J&S automotive for many years. We recently made the mistake of taking our older Ford Freestar to the dealership thinking they would be able to fix it and instead we only ended up out $440 in "diagnostic" fees and were told that they couldn't get the needed part. We took it to John, he ordered the part and had it fixed in a day! These are the folks to stick with, especially if you have an older vehicle. We'll never take the van to the dealership again.

I can’t say enough good things about J&S Auto. I stopped by because my brakes were squeaking, and they immediately took a look — no appointment, no wait. They found the issue, replaced the brake pads and the squeaking is gone! Everyone there was super friendly, honest, and genuinely helpful. My car feels brand new, and I left feeling blown away by how kind and professional they were. I’ll definitely be coming back for any future work — they’ve earned a lifelong customer. Highly recommend J&S Auto!

My husband and I have been taking our cars here for several years now and have never been disappointed by the service of both the mechanics and the owner jon. Their representative bill does an excellent job at being upfront about the state that your vehicle is in as well as honest on how the pricing is going to go down depending on what you want to do with your vehicle. I have had 3 beater cars and out of all the mechanics that I have enlisted J&S Automotive has been the only one that I have returned to if you want reliability honesty and efficiency I highly recommend going here.

I'm so disappointed this was my go to place with my car. I've always trusted this place. I got treated like absolute crap from one of the workers. Rob is amazing but the other woker is awful. I'm so shocked with how bad I got treated here. Wasted money also. So disappointed.
