Personal online reputation: questions

Can I delete information about me from the internet?+

Partly. You can ask Google to drop results with your personal details, ask site owners to remove pages, opt out of data broker sites, and in some places file a legal deletion request (CCPA in California, GDPR in the EU). What you cannot do is delete pages from sites you don’t control at will, or remove yourself from an AI model’s training data.

Are internet removal services a scam?+

Not all of them. Some legitimately file data broker opt-outs on your behalf — work you can also do yourself for free. Walk away from any service that promises to erase you from the internet, guarantees removal of news or reviews, asks for large upfront fees, or claims it can delete you from ChatGPT.

Do I need a personal reputation management service?+

Start with what people actually see. Reputation management for individuals usually begins with an audit of search results and AI answers — this check gives you the AI part for free, so you know whether there is anything to fix before you pay anyone.

What is personal online reputation?+

Your personal online reputation is what people find and conclude when they look you up — on Google, on social networks and now in AI assistants. AI answers matter more and more because they summarise you in one paragraph, with no links to check.

How do I check my online reputation for free?+

Type your name above. We ask ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude who you are, from memory and with web search, and show what each one says, which sources it used and where it gets you wrong. It takes under a minute and needs no signup.

Is this different from googling myself?+

Googling yourself shows a list of links. AI assistants turn those links into a verdict — and can mix you up with a namesake or repeat outdated facts. This check shows you that verdict, which a search page never does.

How do I improve my personal online reputation?+

Keep one public profile current, mark up your personal site with Person schema, get mentioned in interviews and press, and use the same name everywhere. Run the check again in a few weeks to see what changed.

Which AI assistants do you check?+

ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude. Each is asked twice: once with no tools, so the answer comes only from its training data, and once with its own web search, the way the consumer app answers today.

How is the score calculated?+

Each assistant can add up to 33 points: up to 20 for knowing you from memory (more when it is confident) and 13 for finding you with search. The score is the share of the possible points, so an assistant that failed to answer does not count against you.

Do you store my name?+

The result is kept for 30 days so the share link works, and nothing goes into our database or search engines. Share pages are not indexed. The same name asked again within a day is answered from that stored result.

Why does the AI confuse me with someone else?+

Models merge people who share a name when nothing on the web separates them clearly. Adding your city, job or company helps, and a consistent public profile fixes it over time.

Can I check someone else?+

The check only shows what public AI assistants already answer to anyone who asks. Please use it for yourself or for public figures, and remember the answers can be wrong — they are what a model says, not verified facts.
