Best mechanic shop in the area they will take good care of you

Great service at a fair price. We definitely recommend.

Omar went above and beyond and is such a nice guy. He helped me with everything I need, explained everything, and took his time. Most importantly, his prices are phenomenal and affordable. Definitely recommend.

If you're looking for someone honest, professional, and dependable --- everything you’d want in a mechanic --- then this is the place for you. There’s a level of integrity and care here that really stands out. I appreciated Omar's attention to detail and how he took the time to make sure everything was handled properly, efficiently, and with care. The whole experience here was smooth, reassuring, and seamless. Highly recommend!

I had a really great experience here and genuinely appreciate the level of care, integrity, and professionalism. Omar was honest, respectful, thorough, and took the time to make sure everything was handled properly. It’s not easy to find someone you can trust with your car, but I felt comfortable and well taken care of from start to finish. It was clear that Omar and his team take pride in their work and value customers. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for reliable and trustworthy service!

My first time at this place, the service was excellent, I recommend it.

UPDATE (Jan 2026): I returned to Prime Automotive Repair in Garland and they’ve outdone themselves again. They went above and beyond to pinpoint and fix the issue with my car. A special thanks to Omar—he even used a pressure washer to clean the engine surfaces, and it looks brand new now! It’s worth the drive from anywhere in DFW to get this level of honest, detailed service. Still my go-to shop! Old review: Very knowledgeable, professional, honest. Great service for reasonable prices.

They are transparent and humane. They explain your car problems and solutions to you before fixing. They are friendly too.

Prime Automotive Repair – Misleading and Untrustworthy My experience with Prime Automotive Repair was disappointing and frustrating. I brought my vehicle in based on an arrangement with Tom (from the seller’s side), who assured me the car had been fully inspected and any issues would be addressed. Prime later claimed the aftermarket radio was the cause of an oil pressure sensor problem — a diagnosis that turned out to be completely false. A certified VW dealership confirmed the issue was unrelated to the radio and far more serious than what Prime acknowledged. Despite warning lights and clear drivability concerns, Prime stated there were no issues with the vehicle. Real mechanical problems were either missed or ignored, and some of the services claimed to be completed were never verified or were misrepresented. While I want to note that Omar, the individual I worked with at Prime, is a great person and was respectful throughout, the overall handling of the vehicle’s condition and the misleading claims were unacceptable. Tom also failed to follow through on promises, standing by Prime’s evaluation despite the obvious problems. I cannot recommend Prime Automotive Repair for reliable diagnostics or trustworthy service.
