My wife used to live in Stuttgart, Germany and we decided to stop in for dinner after our visit to Stone Mountain. We were pleasantly surprised. The food was great, beer was delicious (even more so after a day of walking), and the staff was very family friendly. Our waiter, Trent, was perfect. Always checked up on us but never overbearing. They have a small bakery at the entrance and you can get desserts and pastries to-go. It reminded me a lot of the positive and hospitable atmosphere of Germany. I’ll be back again.

They have an Amazing bakery section 😍 recommend by Stillwell Emporium. I got the Cheese Danish and cranberry Oatmeal cookie. They were both delicious but the cheese Danish was my favorite 😍!!! It freaking delicious 😋

We had a great time. We saw the restaurant with the Beer Pub sign out front and read a review that someone had brought their dog, so we pulled in because we had our pupper, Spot. They were so nice and took us to the sidewalk patio that was a little shaded and near the flower beds. They brought Spot a bowl of water and we got the German Pretzel and a couple of Hefeweizen’s. Very good all around experience. Highly recommend. It is authentic German! “dog friendly” “dog-friendly”

Reminds me of my Oma’s cooking! We stopped by after hiking Stone Mountain and will definitely be back soon! We order the Potato Pancakes, Brat Dog, Wiener Schnitzel with Spätzle and Potato Salad, and the Apple Strudel. Y’ALL. When I tell you it felt like I was having Sunday dinner at Oma’s house.😍 The food was as authentic as it can get and DELICIOUS! The staff was so friendly and welcoming, they even brought out cold water for our pup without us having to ask. Highly recommend!! If you’re feeling adventurous, try the Spätzle with their cranberry applesauce. SO GOOD!

Delicious food! Perfect way to load up on calories after a fat hike around Stone Mountain. We had the brat dog, the schnitzel, and potato pancakes. Everything was fire. The sauerkraut was on point and the potato salad tasted like your German grandmother’s old recipe. Whoever said the food was too salty is dead wrong. My gf is German and hates overly salty foods, and she thought everything was spot on! I’ve only ever popped in for the beers before today, but I’ll be ordering food every time now.

Jaegerschnitzel sauce was not good had a very overpowered flavor of i think Worcestershire or similar ingredients. Not authentic. Dish for $23 came on a paper plate with baking paper underneath the food which made a mess when cutting the meat. Not sure I'll go back as I am a german food fan but this failed

For the owner: I have been a regular for years, I was sad when yall were closed from the fire and overjoyed when you reopened . The rest of your team is AMAZING, food is always delicious! BUT…. You really need to talk to Reese! He isnt just rude… He is dismissive & condescending for no reason. I walk in happy and leave feeling disrespected. Its gotten to the point that I no longer look forward to dinning here when he is working. Why would I pay to be around such a negative attitude ?? He particularly seems to have a problem with treating women with respect. In one breath He’s rude to me and the b next nice to my husband. I genuinely don’t understand what his problem is. 🤷🏻‍♀️ maybe he just needs a vacation or to have his energy matched ?! Anyways..giving 4 stars because I love your Restaurant….i’ ll bump it up to 5 if Reese can manage to be pleasant. PS. please bring Saturday BRUNCH back…it was my favorite lol💛

The Village Bakery is an Atlanta classic! If you want Austrian and German food in Atlanta, this is the place to come. From sausage to schnitzel they all go well with the beer made on the Premises. Finally, the bakery part is true. Hilde makes both great basic breads and delectable desserts. The service is good and chess players are especially welcome.

We drove over 2hrs to be very disappointed with our experience. The service was good but the food just lacked German flavor. The red cabbage lacked the sweet sour taste and wasn't simmered long enough. The schnitzel was decent but the bratwurst lacked flavor and had an unpleasant aftertaste. When you come to a German Restaurant, Bakery & Tavern you'd expect to hear German music playing over the speakers as well. The other issue we had was the food was brought out on a paper plate that was covered with some type of paper cover-lining that you had to be careful not to eat due to the food soaking into the paper. Everytime you attempted to get the food the paper was peeling off with it. I definitely wouldn't recommend this place.
