Why can’t it show competitors’ review velocity or response rate?

Google’s Places API returns only a handful of reviews per business, so how fast competitors gain reviews, and how often they reply, can’t be calculated from public data. Those three metrics are available for your own business once you connect your Google profile.

How many reviews do I need to catch up?

Is the data live?

It’s current Google data, cached briefly to keep the tool fast and free. Ratings and counts update as Google updates them.

What is the “public score”?

A single 0–100 number built the same way for every business from the public metrics (rating, review count, photos, completeness) so they’re comparable. It’s not the full Tailwind Score, which also weighs review velocity and your responses — that needs a connected profile.
